Press release: Twelve companies shortlisted for the CSRD Awards 2024
Amsterdam, October 11, 2024
The organisers of the new CSRD Awards, Impact Economy Foundation (IEF) and Van der Molen E.I.S., announced today that twelve companies have been selected and shortlisted for the CSRD Awards 2024. The selection was done based on a methodology developed by us at Impact Institute. Organisations could self-apply to participate with their annual report for financial year 2023. A professional jury will decide the winners. The awards will be presented to the two winners during a now sold-out congress CSRD DAY 2024 on 12 November next.
We invite companies, stakeholders and service providers to participate in the future of sustainability and sustainability reporting. CSRD DAY provides a platform for 300+ participants in knowledge sharing, networking and celebrating success stories in sustainable reporting.

About the CSRD Awards
On 28 November 2023, the Crystal Award for the best sustainability annual report was presented for the last time. This marked the end of a rich history that began in 1995. The Kristal Award honoured reporting companies for their efforts and showcased best practices. Van der Molen E.I.S. and Impact Economy Foundation want to continue the tradition and have initiated ‘the Dutch CSRD Awards’ as its successor.
Companies could apply for the awards until 27 September last via www.csrdawards.nl with their 2023 financial year report. There are 34 participants.
Professional jury
The expert jury consists of:
– Teresa Fogelberg, Former Deputy Chief Executive Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) and former chair of the Expert Panel of the National Transparency Benchmark
– Marleen Janssen Groesbeek, Lecturer Sustainable Finance and Accounting Avans Hogeschool
– René Orij, Professor of Sustainability Reporting Nyenrode Business University
– Dick de Waard (chairman), Emeritus Professor at the University of Groningen
The awards are supported by organisations such as NBA, SRA, UN Global Compact Network Netherlands, VBDO, VVM network of environmental professionals and Eumedion.
CSRD DAY 2024
On 12 November 2024, the first edition of a new annual sustainability congress will be organised: CSRD DAY. CSRD DAY is an initiative of Impact Institute, Van der Molen E.I.S. and SWP (fardau platforms). The organisation presents an inspiring day programme with speakers such as Jan Peter Balkenende, Laura van Geest (chairman AFM) and Wim Bartels (Europe lead Sustainability Deloitte).
Interest in the conference is huge and the congress is now fully booked with 600 participants. The annual congress aims to contribute to the transition to a sustainable economy.
There are 24 organisations presenting themselves with a stand at the CSRD Marketplace. There are also 24 practical sessions filled in by the many partners who have committed to the congress.

Folkert van der Molen is als duurzame ondernemer actief met zijn bedrijf Van der Molen E.I.S. Hij is de initiatiefnemer en organisator van de jaarlijkse MVO Manager van het Jaar verkiezing en runt een viertal duurzame web portals waaronder het Online Kenniscentrum Duurzaam Ondernemen (www.duurzaam-ondernemen.nl) en de Nationale en Internationale websites voor duurzaamheidsverslaggeving.
